Up to three user-supplied SATA drives can be configured for RAID 0, 1, 5, and JBOD modes. Drives are hot-swappable with support for auto-rebuild and hot spare capabilities.

Network connection is via two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and storage can be expanded via one eSATA and two USB 2.0 ports.

The i5500 is Thecus' first iSCSI product, which the company says provides up to twice the performance of its N5200 Pro. Five hot-swappable SATA drive bays provide up to 5 TB of storage that can be configured as RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 6, 10, or JBOD.

Also supported are instant RAID volume availability, auto volume rebuild, support for up to 256 logical volumes and online RAID expansion.

iSCSI features include Logical Unit Number (LUN) support, Local N-way mirroring, offline array roaming and smart faulty sector relocation.

The MSRP for N3200M is $470, and the U.S. availability is end of this month. Pricing and availability for the i5500 are not yet available.
