The TS-459U-RP and TS-459U-SP are 1U height and have 1 GB of DDRII RAM. The -SP has a single power supply, but can also be upgraded to the -RP's dual supply configuration.

Both models support configuring up to four 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drives in RAID 0/1/5/5+ hot spare/6, and JBOD, with online RAID capacity expansion, online RAID level migration and RAID recovery. Other features include 256-bit AES volume level encryption, 5 USB ports (1 front panel & 4 real panel), two e-SATA ports and dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports supporting failover and aggregation.

The pair run version 3.2 of QNAP's OS with features including VMware vSphere4 (ESX 4.0) compatibility, iSCSI with SPC-3 Persistent Reservation, MPIO and MC/S support, DFS, IPv6, WebDAV and Apple Time Machine backup.

The TS-459U-RP and TS-459U-SP will be available this month at MSRP's of $1,149 and $1,349, respectively.
