AVG Technologies has announced a free antivirus solution for Android tablets.
ANTIVIRUSFree for Android tablets can scan apps, settings, data and media files in real time for viruses and other malware. And if the tablet gets lost or stolen, it can be remotely traced and wiped to protect privacy.
Other features include backup of contacts, call logs, bookmarks, messages and installed applications to an SD card and an app locker to password protect any app on the phone.
ANTIVIRUSFree for Android tablets was developed by Israel-based DroidSecurity. AVG acquired the company, now known as AVG Mobilation, in November 2010.
