A Slingshot spokesperson said that Slingshot will offer wireless modems in multiple form factors including removable PC cards, embedded wireless modems and USB wireless modems, which will be available from Slingshot or its affiliates.
The network that is accessed will depend on location and other factors. But users will have access to service anywhere they would have cell phone coverage in the US.
Basic pricing ($54.95) is based on bandwidth. Additional features, such as VoIP support and usage increase the cost.
The new Slingshot service will be available June 1 at " various retail locations nationwide" or online at www.slingshot.com.
