Microsoft today announced a Digital Home Makeover Contest.
The $10,000 prize package will include a new PC with Windows Media Center, Extenders for Windows Media Center, flat screen television and "video-capable" wireless home networking.
Linksys has announced two Media Center Extenders that are "Coming in November".
The DMS 2100 Media Center Extender and DMA 2200 Media Center Extender with DVD Player are designed to support streamed content from PCs running Windows Vista Premium or Ultimate using Ethernet and draft 802.11n wireless connections.
NETGEAR today said it has begun shipment of the Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) media player that was announced at January's Consumer Electronics Show.
The EVA8000 can display still, music and video files streamed from UPnP AV sources without the need to run server software on a PC. However, running included software on a Windows PC enables the EVA8000 to play iTunes content, view YouTube videos and access a Windows desktop across a network.
The EVA8000 is available now at an MSRP of $399.
ARCHOS today announced the ARCHOS 704-WiFi, which it claims is the only PMP with a 7-inch touch-screen and full wireless capabilities.
The 704-WiFi has a 5x7 inch 800x480 16 million color touch screensimilar in size to a standard photographand integrated high-quality stereo speakers. The 80GB hard drive can store 70 DVD-quality movies, 40,000 songs or 800,000 photos.
