The results in Table 1 show an increase in throughput, but a decrease in number of simultaneous sessions handled.

These results, while certainly fast enough for any connection that the 854T might be applied to, rank it last in throughput among other routers with gigabit WAN and LAN ports. But the ability to handle 72 simultaneous connections puts it in the current #2 spot behind the D-Link DIR-655.
Figure 6 shows what the throughput variation looks like on the simultaneous routing test. It looks pretty well behaved, but with a ~30% cyclic variation on long continuous transfers.
